bio & writing

I was born in July 1970 in Madrid, Spain, where I live since then. I graduated in Geography from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid / Autonomous University of Madrid in 1993 and attended some training in writing for the media after that (Press, Radio, Internet). I'm currently working as an editor at a renowned institutional cultural website from 1998 to now.

As a writer, two of my short stories became finalists in two International Very Short Stories Contests for Editorial Hipálage (a Spanish publishing house) and were published: the first one ("En el Somme, 1916" / "In the Somme, 1916") on a collective book titled A contrarreloj II / Against the clock 2 in May 2008; the second one ("Cristal tallado" / "Carved Crystal") was published also on a collective book entitled Más cuentos para sonreír / More tales to have a smile in October 2009.

My works include also some novels (Cachapa Varsoviana / Varsovian Cachapa and En septiembre / In September) and some books of poetry (Simplicidad aparente / Apparent Simplicity, Dodecálogos y números primos / Dodecalogues and Prime Numbers and Arena contra el viento / Sand Against the Wind). Unfortunately my novels and poems haven't been published yet. I like SF, fantasy and horror writing, too, and some of my tales were published on an amateur magazine.

From 2000 to 2005 I was working in writing Álbum de alquimias / Album of Alchemies, an study on literary creation, for which I interviewed nearly 200 writers from Spain and many countries and languages. Between 2005 and 2008 I worked in writing and directing my short film Horror vacui (56), which is finished now and making its journey through film festivals. Now I want to return to Álbum de alquimias to finish it with more interviews.
